Spring 2024 Term Student Body to Reach 1,200

SLU-Madrid will welcome transfer, visiting and permanent degree-seeking students on Jan. 9 at campus orientation.

2024 kicks off with a growing number of four-year and study abroad students on the Madrid Campus.

Almost 550 students call SLU-Madrid their home institution. This figure includes transfer and graduate students. Just over half of them are American.

The upcoming academic term's cohort contains non-U.S. citizen first-year and transfer students.

Spring brings a larger number of visiting students, this year topping 650. Nearly 45% are visiting from SLU-St. Louis.

SLU-Madrid is to host students from Auburn University (Alabama), Baylor University (Texas), Butler University (Indiana), Gonzaga University (Washington), Harvey Mudd College (California), King's College (Pennsylvania), Lafayette College (Pennsylvania), Lehigh University (Pennsylvania), Loyola University Chicago, Marquette University (Wisconsin), Marymount University (Virginia), Metropolitan Community College (Nebraska), Saint Joseph's University (Pennsylvania), Temple University (Pennsylvania), University of Maryland, University of Michigan, University of Mississippi, University of Notre Dame (Indiana), University of Richmond (Virginia), University of San Francisco, University of Scranton, University of Virginia, University of California – Berkeley, University of Delaware, University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Wisconsin – Madison, Vanderbilt University, Virginia Military Institute, Washington and Lee University (Virginia) and Xavier University (Ohio).

The most popular academic areas among registered students are communication, psychology, political science, philosophy and economics.

SLU-Madrid also continues its exhaustive leadership search into the new year. The role will be filled by July 2024.
