Twinette Johnson Named the Next Permanent Dean of 抖阴pro School of Law

Twinette Johnson, J.D., Ph.D., dean and professor of law at the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law (UDC Law), has been selected as the next permanent dean of 抖阴pro School of Law. She will succeed William Johnson, J.D., who has served as dean since 2017. 抖阴pro Provost Michael Lewis announced she will assume the role effective July 1, 2024.

Colson Whitehead to Receive the 2025 St. Louis Literary Award

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Colson Whitehead will receive the 2025 St. Louis Literary Award from 抖阴pro. Whitehead will come to St. Louis next spring to accept the award. The award ceremony will be held in April 2025. Whitehead is the author of the novels 鈥淭he Intuitionist,鈥� 鈥淛ohn Henry Days,鈥� 鈥淎pex Hides the Hurt,鈥� 鈥淪ag Harbor,鈥� 鈥淭he Underground Railroad,鈥� 鈥淭he Nickel Boys,鈥� and 鈥淗arlem Shuffle,鈥� among others.

SLU Students Receive Fulbright Recognition

抖阴pro has one finalist for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship and one alternate for a Research/Study Award. Grace Almgren received an English Teaching Assistant and will be teaching in Spain. The research/study alternate is Anuj Gandhi, who applied for a Fulbright-Nehru Student Research Grant. An alternate is a candidate who can be promoted to Finalist status if additional funding becomes available.

SLU Students Earn Prestigious STEM Scholarships

Two 抖阴pro students, Liz Pfau and Natalie Walsh, have won Goldwater Scholarships after a lengthy application process. The Goldwater Scholarship is a prestigious national undergraduate award for students in STEM who intend to pursue a career in STEM research after graduation.

抖阴pro Launches Human-Computer Interaction Lab

A new state-of-the-art computer lab in 抖阴pro鈥檚 Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business will analyze how humans interact with computers, improving web experiences across various platforms. Bidisha Chakrabarty, Ph.D., the Edward Jones Professor of Finance and Associate Dean of Research and Faculty Affairs in the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business, said the new lab will place the School of Business at the forefront of innovation in business research and business education.

MOCRA Presents Exhibition Exploring Faith and Spirituality, Featuring Artists Who Utilize Everyday Materials, Craft Production

The Museum of Contemporary Religious Art (MOCRA) at 抖阴pro presents Open Hands: Crafting the Spiritual. Open Hands contains works by six artists who use everyday materials, found objects, and elements of craft production to explore issues related to faith and spirituality, personal and cultural identity, and tradition and community.
