The SNMMI 2023 Annual Meeting is recognized as the premier educational, scientific, research and networking event in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. The four-day event, taking place each June, provides physicians, technologists, pharmacists, laboratory professionals and scientists with an in-depth view of the latest research and development in the field and insights into practical applications for the clinic.

Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) faculty Sarah Frye, Ph.D., MBA, CCRP, CNMT, PET, NCT and Crystal Botkin, Ph.D., M.P.H., CNMT, PET, FSNMMI-TS attended the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging in Chicago, from June 24-27, 2023. "The SLU NMT faculty, students, and alumni participate in the SNMMI meeting every year. This group never ceases to amaze me with their hard work and dedication," Botkin said. "The students gain a perspective of the full scope of the field of nuclear medicine and have the opportunity to begin building relationships with lifelong colleagues. I am proud to be a part of this team and look forward to many more opportunities to work with them in the coming years."

Botkin attended the governance meetings which preceded the formal conference. She was recognized for completing four years of service (two terms) as SNMMI-TS Speaker of the National Council of Representatives (NCOR). In addition, the SNMMI-TS had the first-ever student career interest event. This event included presentations from technologists and college recruiters. The students had an opportunity to interact with NMT program directors to gain more information about the NMT programs across the country. Botkin attended and spoke to students at this event.
