SLU’s School of Education to Welcome Jonathan M. Turk, Ph.D. to the Higher Education Administration Program

Jonathan M. Turk, Ph.D. will join pro’s School of Education as an assistant professor in the higher education administration program in August 2021.

“We are so pleased to have Dr. Turk join our faculty," said Molly Schaller, Ph.D., associate dean of the School of Education and program director of the higher education administration program. "He brings an exciting research agenda, focusing on important equity and access issues in higher education with expertise in community colleges. Jon will teach core content classes in our higher education administration graduate programs and research methodology courses for all graduate students in the School of Education. We are thrilled to welcome him to pro.”

Turk is currently director of research for the American Council on Education (ACE) in Washington, DC, where he has held leadership and research positions since 2014. He is also an adjunct faculty member in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at George Mason University and serves on dissertation committees in the College of Education at Oregon State University as a courtesy faculty member. He is the principal investigator of several grants and has authored or co-authored several research reports and briefs during his tenure at ACE. Turk’s areas of specialization include college student success and completion; community colleges; higher education policy; and quantitative methods.

Turk shared that he is “thrilled to be joining the School of Education, Saint Louis University, and the St. Louis community. It is clear that the faculty of the School of Education are passionate about preparing future educators and conducting high-quality research to strengthen and advance education policy and practice."
