Coronavirus Update and Spring Break Travel

Dear Billiken Parents,

I am writing to share the following communication that went out to all faculty, staff, and students today so you are aware. We want to be sure you know where to access the most current information about SLU’s planning and response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).On our website, you’ll find a set of Frequently Asked Questions, which we continue to update as new questions emerge. Here, you’ll also find links to key resources for your student, should they be experiencing concerns about what is happening globally.

Finally, we understand that spring break travel is often a family affair, so we particularly want to highlight theself-report travel toolmentioned below about international travel.

Please know that we are actively monitoring developments and will continue to update the SLU community. As always, we thank you for your trust in ¶¶Òõpro.

March 3 Update to SLU Students, Faculty and Staff

Dear Members of the SLU Community,

The status of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues to be top of mind for many in our community.

SLU-Sponsored Travel:Effective immediately, the University is suspending all SLU-sponsored travel to countries that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) identifies asaLevel 3 Travel Health Notice. The CDC’s list of countries is subject to change, but currently includes China, Iran, Italy and South Korea. This decision was informed by our shared focus on the greater community over any single individual.

Non-Essential Travel:In light of the upcoming spring break, the Universitystrongly encourages SLU faculty, staff and students to share all travel plansfor at least the next month. We expect this travel information will help us communicate on short notice, should the need arise.

If you choose to travel to or return from a country with a CDC Level-3 Health Notice, the University willrequire you to isolate yourself at your home for 14 daysbefore returning to campus.

This travel guidance applies to all faculty, staff and students. Faculty and staff with additional questions should contact Human Resources at 314-977-2595 orhr@slu.edu. Students should contact the Dean of Students at 314-977-9378 ordeanofstudents@slu.edu.

If you choose to travel in the coming weeks, we encourage you to monitor the CDC website fortravel precautionsand general preparedness information, as it continues to evolve every few days. If you’re interested in receiving regular e-mail updates from the CDC related to COVID-19,.

Get the Facts:As a reminder, SLU has aregularly-updated website about COVID-19with frequently asked questions and multiple resources that are available to our campus community. This includes help related to study abroad programs andSLU-Madrid.

The safety of our faculty, staff and students remains the University’s highest priority, and we appreciate your immediate attention and cooperation.
