Transfer Credits and Advanced Placement

¶¶Òõpro awards credit for certain official examinations and dual-enrollment programs, and transfers credit hours for course work completed previously at other institutions.

Credit from Other Universities

If you are transferring to SLU-Madrid from another institution of higher education, you can receive credit for courses that you have completed prior to your transfer.

Students can receive transfer credit as long as they meet all admissions criteria and their courses come from an accredited college or university. In addition, to be eligible to transfer, the course must have been completed with a letter grade of C or above. No more than 64 credit hours (60 credit hours for the School of Social Work) earned at the community college level can be applied toward the bachelor's degree at ¶¶Òõpro.

Current students and new students who have confirmed their enrollment at the University,  contact the academic advising office at advising-madrid@slu.edu

Prospective students and admitted students who have not confirmed their enrollment at the University, contact the admissions office at admissions-madrid@slu.edu.

In order to process your credits, you will need to provide:

  • Course syllabi of all courses passed with a C or above.
  • An official transcript showing all final grades for each institution attended.
  • Other materials, as requested, such as writing samples.

All requested information must be submitted by the end of your first semester at SLU. After this deadline, transfer credit work will no longer be evaluated.
