¶¶Òõpro in Patient Care

Patients are the reason for our department’s existence, and our top priority is providing them with courteous and compassionate clinical services of the highest quality. Every patient deserves our best effort.

Service to Referring Physicians

We must respond to requests from referring physicians promptly and intelligently and communicate the results of our studies diligently and promptly.

Educational Mission

Our goal is to provide our residents with educational opportunities that are engaging, comprehensive and reflect the current state of knowledge in radiology. We are dedicated to training future leaders in clinical radiology.

Research

Our mission is to nurture scientifically sound investigation that advances the state of the art in medical imaging. We are committed to partnering with other Saint Louis University departments in collaborative medical imaging research efforts. We also provide imaging services in support of clinical trials and drug development efforts.

Our History

SLU SOM's Department of Radiology dates back to the turn of the 20th century at the old St. Louis City Hospital. With its closure in 1985, the primary location of the radiology residency training program moved to ¶¶Òõpro.

Since then, the department has expanded to include at least 25 full-time radiologists in addition to part-time and clinical faculty. The Division of Nuclear Medicine joined the department in March 2007 with an ACGME-accredited 3 year residency program and a non-ACGME accredited  1 year fellowship position in PET/CT.

Our educational programs also include a four-year residency in diagnostic radiology, which has a long-standing reputation as a strong clinical training program. It provides residents with a diverse and comprehensive educational experience, enabling them to obtain top-notch fellowship positions in various subspecialties and preparing them for successful future careers in academic radiology and private practice.
