¶¶Òõpro's Child Neurology Residency Program accepts applications from medical school graduates, although the application process is extremely competitive.
SLU's small program receives a myriad of applications, including many from the top medical schools in the U.S. Only those with exceptional credentials are invited for an interview. An international medical school graduate must have a valid ECFMG certificate, completed USMLE Part III. Please note that ¶¶Òõpro School of Medicine will not sponsor trainees for an H-1B visa.
At the completion of the training program, graduates will have the knowledge and clinical experience necessary to practice child neurology independently, either at an academic institution or in private practice. In addition, they will be prepared to successfully achieve certification both from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Pediatrics.
Please submit your application through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). Our residency is a combined peds/neuro five-year program, we will share your application with the pediatrics residency program. How to Arrange an Interview
After your application has been reviewed in ERAS, you will receive an email through ERAS from Division of Child Neurology Program Coordinator Frances Copeland indicating the status of your application. If you are invited for an interview, specific instructions will be included on how to arrange it.
Interview season runs from mid-October through late January. Specific dates will be included in the email invitation when invited. Interviews for the Child Neuro program are conducted over two days. The first day of interviews will be with Pediatrics followed by a second day with Child Neurology.
A maximum of three interviewees will be scheduled each day. December is usually the busiest month for interviewing.
Please submit your application through ERAS as soon as possible to allow plenty of time for us to review your file and schedule your interview. If you need to cancel an interview, please do so as early as possible to allow another applicant to take your place.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic precautions, all interviews will be conducted virtually. You will be provided with specific instructions on how to participate in virtual interviews with our faculty members and have the chance to get to know our current residents.
