League of Legends Esports returns to the Midwest for the first time since 2016

The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS), the premier esports league in North America, is heading to St. Louis for the 2019 LCS Spring Finals on April 13. will host the return of professional League of Legends competitions to the Midwest for the first time since the 2016 League of Legends World Championship stopped in Chicago.

“We’re excited to bring the LCS to new cities around North America. We can’t wait to head back to the Midwest and to welcome League of Legends fans to celebrate the conclusion of the Spring Split together,” said Chris “Chopper” Hopper, head of esports - North America at Riot Games. “It’s especially fun to bring our show to St. Louis, which has been such a welcoming community since the start of the company, and to be able to host Rioters from our St. Louis office and their friends and family at the event. ”

To conclude Spring Playoffs, the top two professional League of Legends teams in North America will fight for the championship title, prize money, and a chance to represent our region at the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational. Games begin at 3 p.m. CST / 1 p.m. PST.

Chaifetz Arena is located on the campus of St. Louis University and the 2019 LCS Spring Finals will be their first esports event.

Riot Games, developer, publisher, and league operator of the world’s most-played and most-viewed esports title, League of Legends, currently has three offices in North America including St. Louis, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

2019 Spring Finals ticket information will be posted on Lolesports.com on Monday, Feb. 25.
