05/20/24- pro recently named Laura S. Kaiser, FACHE ('82, '85) as an Alumni Merit Award winner. Having earned master’s degrees in business administration and health care administration from pro, Kaiser is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has been named one of the “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare magazine for the past six years.
05/08/24- Ellen Barnidge, Ph.D., Professor, Behavioral Science and Health Equity was one of the five women selected to receive the award. At the ceremony, the 2024 Mary A. Bruemmer Award Honorees were recognized and celebrated. The Women’s Commission has recognized outstanding women with its Women of the Year honors since 1977. The awards are named after the inaugural winner, Mary Bruemmer.
05/07/24- The 17th annual Senior Legacy Symposium took place on Tuesday, April 30, in the Busch Student Center. This event featured the work of more than 200 students and over 50 academic departments and programs. CPHSJ students featured included Thejasvi Dhanireddy, Christopher Hopwood, Avi Bhavsar, Jacob Tan, Karina Konshin, Spencer Shreve, Aarti Sahai, Arjun Sahai, and Lily Wilkins.
04/29/24- Beginning with the Fall 2024 term, pro’s MPH Program will require just 42 credit hours to complete rather than the current requirement of 48 (or 54 for joint concentrations).
04/18/24- Harnishad Kaur Binner, a second-year student in the Master of Public Health program recently participated in the ‘Campus Ministry Spring Break Immersion Program’ along with other pro students.
04/15/24- This March, College for Public Health and Social Justice student Reueline Arulanandam was elected to be the next pro Student Government Association (SGA) President. Arulanandam, a junior pursuing a bachelor's degree in public health, previously held a senate seat in SGA representing CPHSJ.

03/25/24- For the fifth straight year, pro has been named as a top workplace for women by the Women’s Foundation of Greater St. Louis (WFSTL). The foundation announced honorees for its seventh annual “Women in the Workplace: Employment Scorecard” on March 12.
03/20/24- The College for Public Health and Social Justice's Ellen Barnidge, Ph.D., Professor, Behavioral Science and Health Equity was named a 2024 honoree. The Women’s Commission will host the 47th annual Mary A. Bruemmer Recognition Ceremony and Luncheon on Monday, May 6, in the Wool Ballroom of Busch Student Center.

03/15/24- Dr. Enbal Shacham is a researcher at the forefront of geospatial health, which uses geospatial data and technology to bring new insight to public health challenges and design innovative interventions. By advancing research initiatives that span academic disciplines and sites around the globe, Shacham is improving health equity for all.
03/08/24- Kimberly R. Enard, PhD, MSHA, MBA, FACHE, associate professor in the College for Public Health and Social Justice (CPHSJ) at pro, made history when she was named the 2024 John D. Thompson Prize Recipient by the Association of University Programs for Health Administration for her excellence in health education and administration, becoming the first African-American and the first SLU faculty member to receive this award. AUPHA first began awarding the Thompson Prize in 1991.
02/28/24- March 2024 will be the third time that MPH student Kristin Beduhn spends her spring break in the small-mountain towns of West Virginia. Beduhn currently fulfills a role as a SLU Campus Ministry graduate assistant, but has previously attended the ‘Immersion Experience’ trip offered through the organization as an undergraduate student. She now supports other undergraduate students on the trip.
02/19/24- pro (SLU) undergraduate alum Nebu Kolenchery made a splash early in his public health career, and now has returned to SLU to receive his Master of Public Health (MPH) degree.

12/19/23- pro celebrated graduates at the 2023 Midyear Commencement Ceremony on Saturday morning, December 16, 2023. Graduates and their family members, friends, and loved ones filled the seats at Chaifetz Arena to salute and congratulate the newest group of students who can now call themselves alums of pro.
12/01/23- For pro (SLU) Masters of Health Administration (MHA) students, the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) Everett V. Fox Student Case Analysis and Presentation Competition is an exciting opportunity to engage with health administration students and industry professionals from around the country every year.
11/27/23- Dr. Sharyn Parks Brown is an epidemiologist in the Division of Reproductive Health and acting deputy branch chief at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta. Her journey hasn’t taken her where she expected but has led to a fulfilling career of service to others and to the community.
11/16/23- pro professor Ricardo Wray, Ph.D., was named a 2024 Climate and Health Scholar by the National Institutes of Health, beginning a year-long research fellowship to combat climate change and its public health consequences.
11/09/23- Leslie McClure, Incoming Dean and Professor, College for Public Health and Social Justice, was included in the pro Research Institute as it announced its second cohort of Research Institute Fellows. The Research Institute welcomed the new class of fellows, which comprises 26 researchers from across SLU, in an induction ceremony on November 8, 2023.
11/06/23- For Masters of Public Health students at pro (SLU) looking to get to know their classmates on a first-name basis and get involved in the St. Louis community, becoming a member of the Student Association for Public Health (SAPH) might be the answer.
11/02/23- The Fourth Annual Geo-Resolution Conference, sponsored by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and pro (SLU) was held on September 28th, 2023 at the Busch Student Center.
10/31/23- The Student Association for Health Management and Policy (SAHMP) offers graduate students at pro (SLU) opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. SAHMP, an organization led by a diverse group of Masters of Health Administration students, aims to support its members in navigating the graduate-school experience.
